Your guests will feel like visiting royalty at your party at Café Amelie, one of the most storied locations in the New Orleans French Quarter.
A party at Café Amelie has a certain magic – it’s hard to put your finger on it. The restaurant was named after Amelie Miltonberger, the mother of the first American Princess of Monaco, Alice Heine. Before Princess Grace gave birth to Prince Albert II, Alice was married to his great-great-grandfather Prince Albert I. Alice’s fortune put Monaco on sound financing footing and Alice herself is credited with making Monaco one of the great cultural centers of Europe. Before heading off to France during the American Civil War, Alice had lived in a townhouse adjacent to this courtyard in New Orleans in the 1850s.
Today, you can enjoy sumptuous cuisine in the air-conditioned dining rooms inside Cafe Amelie’s historic Carriage House, and let your party spill out into the romantic Princess of Monaco Courtyard, lush with foliage and charming fountains. It’s a fairytale setting for your next event.
